Our Church met today,
In laying a brother away;
He had breathed out his last,
For him, this life had past;
We will miss him, to be sure,
Only time will be the cure.

The funeral was a blessing today,
It wasn't an elaborate display;
From the prelude at the start,
To the singing touching my heart;
All was done very well,
And tears occasionally fell.

The Pastors, yes, all three,
Poured out their gospel plea;
It was a solemn occasion,
Yet, one of jubilation;
For our brother was born again,
On that you can depend.

For his hope was in the Lord,
In Christ, whom he adored;
In Christ, who died for Him,
Yes, his faith was never dim;
He left this world behind,
And entered into the sublime.
