Hot Air Balloon
by Paul Leaman

The couple stepped in with a stretch,
Both were showing some stress;

The pilot then opens the lever,
At first, nothing happens, however,

Then unclipping the rope to the ground,
Their hearts were beginning to pound.

As the flame and hot air rises,
"Hold on!" the pilot advises.

Up goes the balloon in the air,
Up also an uttered prayer;

As the balloon sore up on high,
Someone exclaimed, Oh my!

To be sure, gravity's law was still there,
But in the basket you were safe in the air.

If you thought you had over come this law,
Stepping out of the basket, you would fall;

So what is the key? Stay in the basket!
Depend on the basket, Abide in the basket.

Spiritually, the basket can be likened to Christ,
When in Him, we can not be enticed;

As long as we abide in Him,
We can have victory over the law of sin.

Yes, consciously depend on Christ,
His strength will surely suffice;

Remember, stay in the basket my friend,
Abide in Christ, till the end.

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ
Jesus hath made me free from the law of
sin and death.
