Psalm 1 (First Writing)
by Paul Leaman

Blessed is that man who doesnít walk
in counsel with ungodly folks.
Who doesnít stand with them to talk
nor smile at their ungodly jokes.

But his joy is found in Godís word alone
contemplating days and nights.
Searching for truth from one who atones
or as a tree by the river delights.

His roots sending deep by the river bank
are anchored strong and sure.
Producing fruit with God to thank
his prosperity long to endure.

Ah but those without God are not so,
but as chaff are soon blown away.
In judgement there is nothing but woe,
in horror and in much dismay.

For the Lord knows all who believe
and those who trust his way.
All the righteous he will receive,
but the ungodly will perish away.
