Indifference Of People
by Paul Leaman

I am always very amazed
at the indifference of people today,
and yet I know itís nothing new
that most have gone astray.

How can those who are lost
never contemplate their demise?
Surely they know by now
that every living thing dies.

Even those who are very old
somehow appear not to care.
Death may come very soon
and they seem so unaware.

Hearing the Gospel time and again
it seems not to convict them at all.
Oh that they would heed his word
before in death they fall.

Satan has blinded their minds
and alas they can not see.
Why doesnít God open their eyes
as he did one day for me?

It seems like they canít respond
or hear his gentle plea,
is their heart really that hard?
Their hardness troubles me.

Oh Lord in Thy mercy,
convict them again today.
Cause them to see their fate
and may they turn to Thee I pray!
