Do You Think God Really Loves You?
by Paul Leaman

Do you think God
Really loves you,
The way you live
And the things you do?

Does He stop loving
When you turn away,
To the flesh, the world
Or the Devil as prey?

Ah my wayward friend
You, the born-again,
Could your sins in anyway
Render His love in-vain?

Did God save you
Because you were so pure,
No, you were as nothing
You were truly obscure.

God loved you
When you were nothing at all,
You were not lovely and pure
As I recall.

God chose you as yet not born
Why, I can not tell.
The Spirit working, gave you faith
And freed from the threat of hell.

So it doesn't matter how I live
He'll love me good or bad?
Yes, yes, He'll always love you,
But your sins do make Him sad.

If you are truly saved my friend
Any sin will grieve your heart.
So, resolve to live for the Lord
For from you He'll never depart!

Do you think God loves you,
I hope you know that my friend.
Oh rest secure in God's love,
For He'll love yo to the end.
