Christ..mas Tree
by Jo Sumlin

The greatest Christmas tree ever seen
is the one made of just two beams.
Hewn and shaped like a cross
predestined and assembled for the lost.

One precious ornament at the age of 33,
was roughly hung upon that tree.
Attached by three nails,
so that we may believe.

A garland made of thorns,
place on a body battered and torn.
Blood streaming down His face,
while He willingly took our place.

A single light was hung,
God's prophesied precious son.
Put on display, for all the world to see
that everlasting life is ours to receive

10,000 angels hovering above
flying to an fro like snow white doves
waiting for just a word or command
from this King..a self made mortal man

Disciples and followers were confused
to watch the Master being abused
died and arose on the third day
to pay a debt we could not pay

Jesus the best gift ever given
so that all of our sins may be forgiven
a gift to be shared with all other
all over the world one to another
