I Adore Thee
by Paul Leaman

Oh my God. whom I adore,
Help me love Thee, more and more;
With every fiber of my being,
Help me to trust, without seeing.

Stir in my heart, even now,
Everyday, more somehow;
When I think of Thy love, given to me,
A sinner undone, how can it be?

Before I was born, You knew me,
And what an awful sinner I would be;
Still You called me by Your grace,
A vile sinner and a disgrace.

With persistence, working in my heart,
Your love and mercy You did impart;
You broke and shattered my stubborn will,
Until, In Your hands, I lay still.

Now, as a Christian, help me each day,
Keep me from falling, or going astray;
For while in this flesh, still prone to sin,
Give of Your strength, deep within.

Purge me from sin each day,
Keep me in tune with Thee, I pray;
Oh the joy of my heart to Thee doth flow,
And set that wondering heart aglow.
