The Question
by Bo Lites

With your troubles on my back I had to go
The way was marked and the trip was slow
Down a lonely road made of stone
Small steps I took but I wasn’t alone
To the top of a hill they had taken me
There was my fate, yes, my destiny
They laid a crown of thorns upon my head
This is the way it had to be, my Father said
Each drop of blood rolled down my face
So you could live in God’s full grace
A nail in the right hand so you might know
If you love me, I will never let go
A nail in the left hand so you might receive
The gift of eternal life if you believe
A pierce in my side with a soldier’s lance
So you could be reborn again with a second chance
A nail into my feet so you might behold
My Father’s house with streets of gold
A place I have prepared to be your home
To stay forever and never roam
I have given you the answers and even clues
I’ve died for you, now what will you do?
