Snowfall
by Martha Carr

Snowflakes have been falling softly all day,
I watch out the window with nothing to say.

Watching the children as they make a snowball,
Throwing at others, missing the real beauty of it all.

A miracle from God as they fall to this earth,
I wonder if it snowed as Mary gave birth?

Do you suppose it is possible as young Jesus grew tall,
That He also had a chance to make a snowball?

Do you think there is a way as Jesus walked over this land,
That He scooped up some snow in the palm of His hand?

Do you think there was a time Jesus had nothing to say,
As He watched the snow fall, softly all day?

And could it be possible that He watched children too,
Dodging snowballs that other children threw?

The snow's been falling softly all day,
I turn from the window with nothing to say.
