Senseless Storm
by Jody Dickey

Thunder rumbles in the sky
Drowning out the child last cry
Rain flooding the ground
With its heavy shower
When an angel looks down
From the clouds of gray
Knowing she has no power
To help the sweet child today
She canít stop something so sad
The beating from the childís dad
Lightning illuminating the blood on the wall
Here laid the child so small
Taking her last breath
Her only escape from abuse her death
By her side the angel appeared
Shedding many tears
Placing her hand upon the child head
Listen to what she said
You were only seven
Really was not your time to go to Heaven
But your heartless dad judge your fate
But donít worry you will find Our Loving Father
Waiting with open arms by the Heavenly Gate
I know not to question you Dear God ďwhyĒ
This had to be
But I question the humans in this world
Why should this happen to any boy or girl
Do you not hear their cries
Can you not see
How they suffer through abusive life
Of misery
Someone take the time to care
Cradling the soul of the child in her wings
Iím taking you on to better things
Shedding one last tear
Into Heaven they disappeared
