Our soldiers
by Glenna M. Baugh

Our soldiers fighting so far away
Risking their lives every day
So many months spent over there
Tired and lonely they do their share.

So many of our soldiers die
In battles raging on every side
Fighting in a country far away
Loved ones praying for them each day.

We see them bringing so many home
Coffins draped in flags red, white and blue
We ask, how many more lives will it take
To stop these wars and feeling of hate.

The terrible sacrifices they must make
Many hardships they are asked take
Oh God, bless families that mourn today
Please hold all soldiers close we pray.

Living by Faith
God, please bless, and hold
our soldiers close. Grant happy
memories to loved ones left
behind as they mourn.
This is our prayer.
